In Data Analysis (not recruiting participants)

A collaboration with Dr. T.J. Jourian

You are invited to participate in a research study about how practitioners (professionals or graduate students) within Gender and Sexuality Centers (e.g., LGBTQ Centers, Gender and Sexuality Centers, etc.) perceive their engagement with anti-racist practices. This study can help inform how spaces designed for minoritized communities on college campuses support those who hold multiple marginalized identities.

If you are invited to participate, you will engage in two one-on-one online interviews, each lasting approximately 60-90 minutes, with the possibility of also completing a journal project. You will also have the ability to engage in a process known as member-checking to assure the study’s credibility.

In order to participate:

1.     Participants must work in a Gender and Sexuality Center as either a full-time/part-time professional and/or graduate student;

2.     Participants must have worked in Gender and Sexuality Centers for at least one academic year;

3.     Participants must feel comfortable talking about their perspectives on how anti-racism has shown up either in their professional practice and/or in the Center itself.

If you meet these criteria and are interested in participating/have questions about the study, please contact the researchers: Antonio Duran, Ph.D. – Assistant Professor at Auburn University (antonio.duran@auburn.edu) and T.J Jourian (tj.jourian@gmail.com). After sharing interest, you will be asked to complete a demographic survey necessary to select participants for the study. Selected participants who complete the study will each receive a $20 Amazon gift card.
