In Data Collection (no longer accepting participants)
You are invited to participate in a research study about the ways that queer students of color develop as it relates to their identities throughout and beyond their college years. Specifically, I am looking to comprehend how higher education institutions help shape the ways that queer collegians of color make meaning of their intersecting identities. I am hoping to recruit students from different institutional types across the country.
In order to participate, you should:
Be an undergraduate student (18-25 years of age) who started/will start college in 2020 or 2021
Identify as a person of color. This includes students who identify as multiracial or biracial.
Identify under the umbrella term of queer.
Feel comfortable talking about how you develop in your identities in and beyond your time in college.
What will this require of me? Individuals selected to participate will engage in an average of 2 individual interviews with me via Zoom over the course of a year. Interviews will take roughly 60-90 minutes. Additionally, participants will also have the opportunity to engage in reflection journaling throughout the year. For every interview that participants do, they will be emailed a $30 Amazon Gift Card as a form of compensation after the completion of the interview.
If you meet the above participation criteria, please complete the Consent and Demographic Form: https://tinyurl.com/QSOCinCollege.
If you have any questions, I can be reached by email (aad0051@auburn.edu). Thanks for considering being a part of this study!
